Exhibitions

The SWS 2023 Annual Exhibition was on display again this year in the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery at the Springfield Art Association throughout the month of October.
Current exhibits are viewable in the H.D. Smith, Polly Roesch Social Room and the Board Room galleries at the Hoogland Center for the Arts during normal business hours.
You can also find work from SWS at Incredibly Delicious, a local resturant located in Springfield.
To be a featured artist, select an exhibit time frame and contact Jan Sorenson Hill. Assistance is available.

Workshops

The Sangamon Watercolor Society has been offering yearly professional workshops at very reasonable prices. Some of the past instructors have included Mark Mehafey, Mary Jansen, Ratindra Das, Ken Call, Karen Knutson, David Lobenberg and David Becker.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL THROUGH FEBRUARY 2024: $450 members / $500 for non-member. Price increase of $50 on the first of March. M $100 holds your spot with full payment due one month prior to first day of workshop.

A Special Members Only Workshop "Surfaces and Edges" is May 4^th and 5^th !
The cost is $100 and includes lunches. It will be limited to 20 participants. Linda and Paula will demonstrate different surfaces Saturday and Debbie will demonstrate different edges Sunday. Members will practice and experiment in the afternoons.

Weekly Painting

Group painting occurs throughout the year. Membership includes access to the studio at the Springfield Art Association, September through May on Wednesday mornings. Summer is the time for plein air. Please refer to the group emails for details.
